Job Status: Volunteer, 2-20 hours per week; Must be available during working hours 8:30am - 5:00pm

Scope

Responsible for a variety of front desk administrative duties, including reception and referrals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, respond to client inquiries
  • Clerical duties, including typing and photocopying
  • Facilitate providing clients with information and referrals to internal programs and services
  • Assist settlement counsellors with client needs assessments
  • Provide administrative support to various internal programs as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Canadian social services system is an asset
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs and issues facing newcomers
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Punctual and responsible
  • Fluency in additional languages is an asset

 

Other requirements

  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
