Event Support Volunteer - Breast Cancer Canada

 

Volunteer Title: Volunteer, Event Support
Time Commitment: Designated event date, 4-8 hours

Description: As an Event Support Volunteer for Breast Cancer Canada’s MEGABike event, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of this exciting team-based fundraising ride. Volunteers will assist in various event tasks to create a smooth and enjoyable experience for participants while raising awareness and support for breast cancer research. This role requires a time commitment of 4-8 hours during the designated event. Volunteers will be provided with a snack, while shifts greater than 5 hours will receive a lunch.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with event setup and teardown, including arranging tables, tents, and signage.

  • Help with participant registration and distribute event materials.

  • Guide and engage with participants and spectators, providing wayfinding support.

  • Support water and refreshment stations to ensure hydration and snack availability.

  • Cheer and motivate riders throughout the event to create an energetic atmosphere.

  • Assist with merchandise and fundraising booths, providing information to participants.

  • Provide general event support as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and willing to engage with participants.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to take initiative and adapt to different tasks as needed.

  • Comfortable standing and moving around for extended periods.

  • No prior experience necessary—just a passion for supporting a great cause!
