Position: Director- Yoga for Humanity – Volunteer position
Who we are:
Help Heal Humanity (HHH) a North American non-profit organization with a mandate to provide education and nourishment to some of the most “at risk” youth and children on our planet today. Our efforts are focused on the Canaan and Citi Soleil region in Haiti, where over 4.5 million people go without electricity, running water, food, resources and have received absolutely no form of government support. HHH achieves these goals in part through the creation and implementation of a number of fundraising events including our annual Local Dinner Parties and Global Dining for Humanity Events, Art and Music for Humanity, Travel for Humanity, Yoga and Fitness for Humanity. We also, partner with other organizations to grow our awareness and purpose on the planet. Since we began in 2011, we have successfully built a school in Canaan Haiti that educates and empowers 121 primary students per day.
Principal Duties:
Help Heal Humanity is looking for a Director- Yoga for Humanity Program. Yoga means union. Through our global yoga retreats, by-donation yoga workshops, classes, and events, we raise funds and awareness to support our HHH mission, while inspiring people through the power of yoga.
Yoga for Humanity is healing our own minds, bodies and spirits, while giving back to community. It is a call to action to all yogis', studio owners, teachers, gurus and students to use the healing benefits of yoga to empower, inspire and give back to others.
Responsibilities:
Education:
A yoga instructor requires some experience, which you can receive through a yoga teacher training program. Instructors receive a credential based on how many hours of teaching experience they have, and whether or not they’ve learned a specialty, like hot yoga or yoga for kids.
Qualifications:
Hours: As a volunteer position we are looking for a minimum of 2hrs per week up to 10-12hrs per month. We understand that that is a big time commitment but we are looking for a consistent commitment.
Term: One to two years, appointed or elected by the HHH team.
