We are recruiting Social Media Volunteers to assist Project Northern Lights with our community work. These roles are part-time and entirely remote.
As a social media volunteer, we may ask you to complete some or all tasks of the following, based on your comfort level, expertise, and time availability.
Making promotional videos and updates on fundraising.
Making and editing elements for visual media. Includes making posters from scratch, editing photos, and illustrations.
Using Canva to make rapidly-deployable and easy-to-update posts to be used on social media.
Social media organizer:
Boosting posts, finding potential fundraising, and promotional opportunities. Responding to other organizations that communicate via social media.
Writing the body for posts, announcements, and promotional material in keeping with a hopeful and concerned narrative voice.
Experience in social media (personal OK, brand preferred)
Availability to keep to a schedule for posting
Comfort in moderating comments, as needed
Maintenance of a professional, friendly tone in outreach
Prompt responses to emails (1 day ideally, less than 3 days required for email turnaround generally)
Ability to meet approx. 1 time per week
