Black Canadian Women in Action is looking for a Volunteer, who will be working remotely and/or in office. This role provides valuable experience for anyone with a passion for empowering black women and girls, and a desire to be socially connected with our communities. Students can benefit from volunteering by start building there future careers. Volunteers are highly valued members of BCW and as such we will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete a placement, upon request.

 

Our programs:

  • Mental and Social Wellness Program
  • Empowerment by the Art and Culture
  • Black Girls Leadership (BGL) grades 10-12 
  • The Inner Child Series (ICS) age 6 to 11
  • Black Girls Corner (BGC) age 12 to15
  • Seniors program
  • Black Canadian Business in Action


Skills and abilities

As a Volunteer at BCW in Action, we are looking for someone with the following skills and abilities:

  • Able to communicate effectively with diverse people
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge MS office suite and other relevant software
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks
  • Self-motivated, proactive, strategic, collaborative and have good follow-through skills
  • Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
  • A positive and outgoing approach to people
