You will work with people at important crossroads in their lives, helping them learn new skills in digital literacy that will help them achieve their employment, education and personal goals. You’ll be responsible for helping them define their digital literacy goals, working towards them on a weekly basis, helping them assess their progress towards their digital literacy goals to celebrate success with them.   


What will you do?

In this extremely rewarding volunteer role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist participants to set up digital literacy learning goals based on their area of need for employment, education or personal goals. 
  • Coordinate weekly tutoring sessions to work toward goals, identify gaps and create action plans in collaboration with other service providers in Prospect.
  • Assist in tracking and recording participant progress. 
  • In collaboration with the participant, utilize task based assessment to assist participants in evaluating their progress towards their learning goals in digital literacy.

What does it take to do this role?

  • Sound knowledge in computer skills (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint), using the internet and social media platforms.
  • Some Post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Good oral communication, and interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships and work with participants conducive to their comfort level.
  • Experience working with a diverse demographic an asset.
