About The Speech & Stuttering Institute
The Speech & Stuttering Institute (SSI) is a non-profit organization in Toronto, offering speech therapy to children and adults with speech and stuttering challenges. SSI’s mandate is three-fold: To provide clinical service, to educate and train professionals throughout the province, and to engage in cutting edge research to unearth the root causes of speech related challenges in order to find the most effective treatment methods.
85% of our clients are children and youth who experience severe communication challenges, many of whom are also dealing with a lack of financial resources and an inability to afford therapy. We make our life-changing speech therapy programs accessible to those who need it by providing subsidies to our programs through the generosity of donors.
SSI is looking for volunteers to help with an exciting opportunity. SSI is participating in cGaming (Charitable Gaming) in partnership with the City of Toronto and OLG. For every volunteer who covers in-person shifts at the Gaming House in Toronto East, the partnership contributes funds to SSI and this in turn helps provide subsidies for speech therapy clients in financial need! We are looking for volunteers who would like to spend their time for SSI to help our cause.
