full time  •  $22 to $25 per hour based on experience and related academics. Up to 30 hours per week.

WHAT WE NEED:

We need an engaged individual who enjoys building relationships within the community. This role is suited for those who desire an opportunity to utilize their proven skills in outreach, program development and facilitating various grief healing support groups across our region.  

 

THE OPPORTUNITY:

With your seasoned experience in leading grief support groups for all ages (youth, adults, seniors) and your proven ability to develop new and existing community-based partnerships; this is a great opportunity to showcase your creative and collaborative deliverables by contributing to our organizational goals and objectives as set annually by our Board of Directors.   

 

THE ROLE:  Group Facilitator and Outreach Coordinator

 

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned leader with proven proficiencies in:

  • Facilitating support groups through inclusive & empathic facilitation.
  • Knowledge of art therapy principles for delivery of expressive art groups.
  • Comfort in discussions and topics regarding death, grief reactions.
  • Ability to be empathic with all ages and loss experiences.
  • Experience in customizing group formats to meet needs of participant groups.
  • Willingness to travel across York Region for outreach, networking, groups.
  • Public speaking for community events and education workshops.
  • Contributing to collective goals as a member of our Events Committee.
  • Support internal training to new volunteers via online and in person classes.
  • Empathic phone etiquette and compassionate communication skills.
  • Data collection including pre/post and stat reporting.
  • Proficiencies in all Microsoft office products, database entries.
  • Familiarity utilizing Canva and Wix software considered an asset.
  • Related academic professional registration preferred (Eg: OCSWSSW).

 

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Consistent work schedule- typically Monday to Friday up to 30 hours per week.
  • Salary commensurate with a minimum of two years related experience and role related academic accomplishments.
