Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Client Services, the Counselling Program Manager leads a staff team that provides individual, couple, family and group counselling services, and off-site counselling and group services through community partners. A key focus of these supports is related to woman abuse and family violence. 

 

Key Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work or in a related field
  • Membership in good standing in a recognized accrediting body
  • Advanced clinical and supervisory skills and familiarity with a broad range of therapeutic approaches to clinical practice
  • In-depth knowledge of family violence and woman abuse programs and related systems
  • Experience in program proposals, service plans and reports, data and statistical collection and program delivery
  • Experience working effectively with funders and community partners
  • Solid leadership skills including strong coaching and mentoring skills, and be a strong team player
  • Sound understanding and commitment to inter-professional service delivery model
  • Excellent decision making and conflict resolution abilities
  • 2+ years of management level responsibility for a broad range of functions, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Superior oral and written communications skills
  • Goal oriented, highly organized, flexible and adaptable with superior time management skills
  • Evidence of satisfactory attendance record
  • Proven experience in serving diverse communities would be a definite asset
  • Strong computer skills – proficiency in MS Word, Excel and data base usage
  • As there may be a work remote component to this job, the ability to work from home, consisting of a safe and private home office setting and the necessary technical equipment and high-speed Internet access for remote work
  • Familiarity with virtual work platforms
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence and regular access to a vehicle are required
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Demonstrated efforts to continuously update skills 
  • Additional language(s) an asset
