Job Summary:

The IT Support provides IT support/ Help Desk support to all staff at multiple branch offices by installing desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software, and assists users with their hardware equipment and software applications. They also analyze the usability and configurations of desktops. Additionally, the Frontline Computer Support will provide orientation for new employees onboarding with IT tools, and users training. 

Reports To: IT Infrastructure Manager 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Service Delivery 

  • Act as the first-line technical support when assisting employees with all PC, mobile devices, network hardware and software problems 
  • Responsible for maintaining and control of IT inventory and troubleshooting of all PCs, servers, printers, scanners, and Local Area Networks ensuring compliance with organization’s and funders’ standards 
  • Maintain and secure the backup process to prevent data loss 
  • Verify the elimination of viruses and computer protection 
  • Train users and provide orientation for new employees onboarding with IT tools 
  • Assist other IT support personnel where needed, and other duties as assigned. 

Inventory Management 

  • Responsible for maintaining and control of IT inventory of all PCs, servers, printers, scanners, and other IT-related equipment 
  • Maintain records and conduct IT inventory audits 

Reports 

  • Provide on-demand user reports and data analytics 

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Minimum college certificate/diploma in the related field plus a minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar environment.  
  • CompTIA, A+, Server+, Network+, Security+ or MCSE Certification is an asset 
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows family (10, 8, 7, Server 2012+), Microsoft Office 2016/2019, Office 365, SharePoint, networking concepts and implementation. 

Job Skills and Abilities:

  • Customer service-oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing efficient use of computing resources.

  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills. 
  • Good working knowledge of online communication platforms (Teams,Zoom, Goto Meeting, etc.) 
  • Works well in a collaborative team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and English communication skills. 
  • Good presentation and training skills for training and orientation of user to technology tools. 

Additional Information:

  • Criminal record check required
  • Ability to lift computer equipment up to 50 lbs. 
  • Some travel to Lower Mainland branch offices is required. 
  • May be required to work a flexible work arrangement (i.e. outside of normal office hours).
