Time Required on Site: 60% (approximate)

We work with thousands of food businesses from across the supply chain to redirect unsold surplus food to non-profit organizations that feed communities in every province and territory. Second Harvest is looking for an organized and enthusiastic team player to join our team as a Volunteer Program Administrative Assistant. This position will provide support for our Volunteer Services team by providing diligent administrative support to ensure accurate and up-to-date record keeping.

We are looking for a someone with strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills who can handle a variety of tasks throughout the day.

 

You Will

  • Complete accurate data entry in Raisers Edge, Excel and volunteer management system
  • Participate in the planning and execution of Corporate Food Sorts in collaboration with the Volunteer Services Department
  • Provide volunteer program administration support, including volunteer file management, sorting documents, and ensuring the privacy of records.
  • Participate in project-based opportunities as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.

  • Technical: you have proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Collaborative: You are collaborative with great interpersonal skills.
  • Organized: You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to learn on the job and resolve situations with a positive attitude.
  • To be eligible, youth must:
    • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
    • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
    • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible participants. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
