Details: Full time, Days, 37.50 hours per week, 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday,

Evening or weekend hours as required.

Reporting to: Director of Facilities Management

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance for assigned facilities within GEF Seniors Housing portfolios, ensuring compliance with GEF policies, procedures, applicable legislation, and provincial standards.
  • Act as the primary consultant for maintenance issues, ensuring accessible, responsive, accurate, and consistent service across all GEF communities.
  • Manage and monitor the completion of work orders & validate all service contract invoices.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Supervise and manage performance of the maintenance team & provide oversight and guidance to the facilities management department for achieving operational efficiency.
  • Analyze reports generated by Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for manpower, consumables, work order completion time, and vendor management.
  • Develop and monitor maintenance budgets for assigned buildings.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team and other relevant stakeholders to support the implementation of projects at assigned facilities and other GEF sites as needed.
  • Participate in the implementation of GEF’s comprehensive Health, Safety, and Wellness Program initiatives.
  • Attend property emergencies as required, on a rotational basis.

 

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Certified Engineering/Architectural Certificate; Electrical Bias preferred. Combination of qualifications and experience may be considered.
  • Good knowledge of HVAC and ability to troubleshoot.
  • More than 8 years of practical experience and strong technical acumen of building controls (Kinetic, automatic controls, Johnson, Honeywell, etc.).
  • HVAC- boiler repair/commissioning experience with hands-on technical experience in building maintenance, boilers, chillers, roof top units, & make up air unit.
  • Control in refrigeration and air conditioning industry experience required.
  • Experience in a seniors-orientated building management and capital projects is an asset.
  • Experience managing, supervising, and collaborating with various trades (plumbers, gas fitters, electricians, carpenters, etc.).
  • Required knowledge of Yardi Advance Maintenance Module; familiarity with other CMMS and building system technologies is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the National Building Code of Canada, Access Control Systems, and Building Automation systems (Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson, Trane, etc.).

Other Requirements:

  • Strong English communication skills (written & verbal).
  • High level of building mechanical knowledge, including controls, electrical, and fire systems.
  • Respected leader, mentor and coach with a flexible, collaborative, people-focused approach.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, interacting respectfully with all.
  • Flexibility with working hours.
  • Must have vehicle, valid driver’s license, and be able to provide a copy upon request.
