Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week)

 

Job Summary:

 

The Events Coordinator is responsible for the planning and execution of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation’s three annual signature events: Bridge to SUCCESS galaWalk with the Dragon, and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation Charity Golf tournament. This position also works with volunteers and supports the team on donor cultivation and stewardship events. 

 

Reports To: Senior Manager 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Supports core organizational administrative activities within the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation 
  • Develops marketing collaterals for the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation 
  • Provide various social media content for event promotion 
  • Writes and edits scripts for events 
  • Develops and supports the planning, production, implementation, evaluation and reporting activities for the Foundation’s events 
  • Manages activities during events, including, but not limited to, staging, volunteer management, audio-visual production, and silent/live auctions 
  • Engages and liaises with event committees to ensure events are delivered in a quality that grows the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. brand reputation in alignment with S.U.C.C.E.S.S. mandate, and maximizes revenue generation 
  • Collaborates with the Senior Manager in developing and implementing special donor cultivation and stewardship events 
  • Other related duties as instructed by the Senior Manager 

 

Education, Training and Experience:

 

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in fundraising, event planning, marketing and/or related discipline 
  • Minimum of two years’ experience managing events 
  • Experience working with volunteers 
  • Experience in marketing and fundraising is an asset 
  • Knowledge of technology and terminology relating to event hosting 
  • Knowledge of event financial management 
  • Knowledge of Donor Perfect is preferred and other fundraising databases is an asset 

 

Job Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Second language knowledge is an asset 
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills 
  • Excellent resource, time management, and organizational skills 
  • Excellent technical skills in MS Office and web-based applications (e.g. MS Teams and Zoom) 
  • Ability to coordinate and execute events 
  • Ability to develop and adhere to event budgets 
  • Ability to connect, engage, and build relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and partners 
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team 
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy 

 

Additional Information:

 

  • Criminal Record Check Required 
  • Ability to work on evenings and weekends as required 
  • Ability to travel to other S.U.C.C.E.S.S. service locations in Greater Vancouver 
  • Ability to travel to event locations in Greater Vancouver
