Position Details:   Seasonal Full-Time, 35 hours per week for 8 weeks (daytime hours Monday – Friday)

Total Hours:      280                                   

Compensation: $16.55/hour     

Start Date:         **June 3, 2024**                   

Anticipated End Date:    July 26, 2024

Agency Overview: Throughout the entirety of the Town of Caledon, Caledon Community Services (CCS) is helping shape the future of a caring and engaged Caledon community.  Our social service programs address community needs in a uniquely challenging and increasingly diverse GTA community.  CCS is home to Caledon’s only accessible transportation program, the Exchange Community Hub that includes food support and a range of activities, the Caledon Specialist Clinic, and personal support services for seniors. We offer settlement services and language classes for newcomers and comprehensive employment services for job seekers and local businesses. We provide paid training programs for Caledon youth as well as exciting internships and volunteer opportunities.  Finally, we invite the community to shop at Evolve, a retail shopping destination. Summary of Responsibilities: 

The incumbent assists in creating a workflow, roadmap for the agency’s Communication & Marketing (CM) division in keeping with the existing information management, electronic file naming protocol already developed to optimize SharePoint’s web-based collaborative abilities and native integration with M365 to increase productivity and maximize the available benefits of the technology. Working with the CM Team and others as assigned, the incumbent will:

  • Review / audit existing implementation and set up of SharePoint in relations to the communications and marketing function;
  • Make recommendations on best use of the tool(s) available in SharePoint to enhance functionality and advance intelligent digital transformation;
  • Assist in creating a workflow, roadmap for optimal collaboration function – internally and externally;
  • Creates processes and procedures to support implementation that includes security levels, access and sharing both internally and externally;
  • Create beta site and provide documentation on a phased in approach to implementing the structure; Collaborate with CCS departments on content development and data collection;
  • Other duties assigned to assist the program.

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary field of study that would be an asset to this position: Computer Science, Digital Marketing, Web Development, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design or related field;
  • Advanced SharePoint experience including MSO Office (web) and One Drive;
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to document processes that are easy to follow;
  • Knowledge that would be an asset to this position: Adobe Creative Suite, website design, maintenance, HTML/CSS, basic coding, embedding, SEO optimization, digital marketing, building landing pages, UI/UX, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards;
  • Up to date knowledge of SharePoint sites best practices;
  • Strong communications skills (written and oral);
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team;
  • Police records check will be required.
