The Program
WJS Canada provides social services to children, youth, adults and families facing difficulties. We take a personalized, trauma-informed approach to care in an environment of cultural respect and support.
When families are in crisis, WJS Canada tries to keep children and youth connected to their families, communities, and Indigenous culture through a variety of social service programs and services tailored to meet their needs, including Family Resilience programs (formerly Early Intervention and Diversion) , life skills training, family preservation, reunification and supported family time.

The Position
This position can be located in either Slave Lake or Peace River. Travel between the sites will be necessary and travel will be reimbursed as per company policy.
The Team Leader for Family and Community Supports is responsible for overseeing day to day operation of the Family Support program to ensure Family Support Worker staff and program operations comply with contractual obligations, company policies and procedures, accreditation standards and labor laws.
The Team Leader will also work directly with a caseload of persons served and their families, and liaise with funders, community partners and other agencies. This position reports to the Program Manager. 

In Your Role You Will
• Assist Program Manager with hiring, orienting and professional development of Family and Community Supports program staff
• Coordinate and assign referrals, supervise family support workers and monitor caseloads
• Ensure client files are maintained and reports are submitted per schedule
• Serve as advocate for clients and liaise with external agencies/professionals involved with families served
• Assist program management with marketing, program administration and community relations
• Ensure program compliance with WJS policies, procedures and accreditation/ethical standards
• Assist program management to develop, implement, manage and evaluate high-quality, outcome-based programming within the service area
• Promote WJS Canada family services programs and initiatives to support children, families and community.
• Implement collaborative service delivery working together with community-based agencies and professionals involved with families and youth served.
• Advocate for and respond to family, child & youth client needs/desires and other influences.
• Ensure critical incidents are reported and managed accordingly
• Assist in future contract negotiations with funders.
• Participate in community development projects.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
• Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Work, Sociology or Psychology or other social services, etc.
• Prefer 2 years supervisory experience
• Valid Driver’s License, reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance, and acceptable driver’s abstract
• Experience with outcome-based programming and interdisciplinary case management and accreditation.
• Commitment to quality assurance and best practices in social services.
