Position summary

Reporting to the compliance supervisor, registration, the compliance monitor provides support to ensure that applicants and registrants of the College are compliant with the legislation, Bylaws, policies and standards that govern the College.

The compliance monitor conducts regular file reviews and audits, reviews responses on the Annual Licence Renewal Form, provides support to registrants and key partners regarding the registration and licensure process, and supports the provisional class of registration.

Duties and responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • provide general support regarding registration and licensure requirements, including through the application process and the Annual Licence Renewal process
  • correspond with applicants and registrants via mail, email and telephone to obtain and document specific details
  • communicate and ensure requirements of provisional licensure are being met within given time frames, in accordance with College legislation, Bylaws, practice standards, and policies and procedures
  • follow-up and monitor activities in a timely manner
  • draft general correspondence for the compliance supervisor, manager and/or executive director, registration
  • review/audit registrants’ files for supporting information and materials
  • create agreement, authorization, and consent forms as required, and conduct necessary follow-up
  • liaise with other College departments and/or other external organizations and jurisdictions to obtain and document specific details
  • lead and/or assist with special projects related to the registration department
  • other duties as required

Skills and qualifications

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • minimum two years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • background in biology, health sciences, or business administration is an asset
  • knowledge/experience in regulation and/or College policies and procedures is an asset
    attention to detail
  • strong analytical skills with the ability to seek out and offer solutions to complex compliance issues
  • exceptional ability to organize and set work priorities
  • ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • familiarity with scientific/medical language preferred
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • proven ability to perform multiple tasks, balance continuous demands and priorities, and meet deadlines
    strong interpersonal skills
  • ability to maintain a calm demeanor during busy or stressful times
  • ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information a must
  • initiative and strong problem-solving skills

The compensation range for this position is $55,706 to $69,632 per year.
