About The Refugee Centre: 

 

The Refugee Centre is a nonprofit community organization that assists newcomers with their integration journey in Montreal. We operate five days a week and host a variety of community events and services including legal aid appointments and wellness support. We have a dynamic and young team of workers, interns and volunteers that run and maintain our multitude of services.

Context

We are seeking a talented and motivated Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, managing our social media presence across a variety of platforms and designing content for our various services and events. It is the Marketing and Communications Coordinator’s job to work with the team to increase awareness of our organization, engage stakeholders, and drive support for our mission. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference and contribute to the success of our organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day social media across different accounts and platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok and Twitter
  • Create and design graphics, posts and other content for all above social media platforms
  • Create marketing plans for TRC services and events
  • Write social media posts and captions in both English & French
  • Coordinate with all of TRC’s departments to ensure that all marketing needs are being met
  • Identify and optimize existing, high-performing content as well as assess analytics
  • Engage and interact with followers and users 
  • Participate in the podcast team by attending weekly meetings and creating graphics
  • Maintain and update website when needed

Qualities/ Experience

  • Strong written and visual communication skills required in both English & French
    • Spanish, Arabic or third language considered a strong asset
  • Good knowledge of social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, LinkedIn
  • Knowledge of social media marketing & analytics
  • Knowledge of Canva - Other creative programs considered a huge asset
    • Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition,  InDesign, Illustrator, Descript, Mailchimp, etc.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and platforms
  • Knowledge of website maintenance is considered an asset. Platform: Webflow
  • Organized, detail-oriented and takes initiative
  • Creative
  • Adaptable & able to work quickly when necessary 

Job Details

  • Period: 1-year contract, with 3 months probation - Beginning in May 2024
  • Location: Downtown Montreal, QC (In-person)
  • Employment Condition: Salary & hours to be determined - based on experience
