Position: Community Project Advisor

Location: 3031 Markham Rd Unit #25, Scarborough, ON M1X 1L9

Salary: $25/hr, 14hrs/week for 35 weeks

 

Are you passionate about empowering young individuals within our community? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! FCC is currently hosting our Youth Micro-Grants Program in collaboration with Canada Service Corps, and we are seeking dedicated individuals to join us in supporting our youth participants.

 

This program has been carefully crafted to provide young individuals with the unique opportunity to initiate and execute volunteer projects that bring meaningful benefits to our community. At the heart of this program is the spirit of volunteerism and community service. Our goal is to empower youth to create positive change, and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way! As a Community Project Advisor, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and guiding these young participants through their volunteer projects.

 

Your responsibilities as a Community Project Advisor at Frontline Community Centre will include:

  • Communicating with youth participants to better understand their vision and project goals.
  • Assisting youth participants in the ideation of community projects.
  • Evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of individual youth participants and designing tailored project coaching interventions.
  • Providing one-on-one project management coaching to ensure the success of youth projects.
  • Developing and facilitating project skill development workshops.
  • Educating youths on the community project model, business plans, service-market fit, volunteer recruitment, and fund management.
  • Assisting in the development of marketing materials, social media channels, record-keeping systems, and other tools.
  • Maintaining regular and timely communication with the Project Manager and other team members.

 

Deliverables:

  • Monthly reports updating the status of individual participant projects.
  • Training materials, including presentations.
  • Training report to include a summary of training sessions delivered and attendance registers.

 Skills & Qualifications

  • A university/college degree in business management, marketing, project management or a related field
  • Familiarity with non-profit organizations or networks
  • Passion for community service and youth empowerment
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills
  • Strong analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
  • Intercultural sensitivity and adaptability to new environments
  • Open-mindedness to work in a team environment
