The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) is the national non-profit professional association representing naturopathic doctors across Canada. Incorporated in 1955, the CAND’s membership consists of over 2,900 Canadian naturopathic doctors and naturopathic medical students. All are graduates of, or students in, an accredited four-year, post-graduate level, naturopathic medical program. The CAND advocates federally on behalf of the naturopathic profession and promotes research and the regulation of all healthcare professionals to ensure public safety. The Association also educates the public about the training and education of naturopathic doctors and the benefits of naturopathic medicine to individuals, corporations, insurance companies and the Federal government.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director leads the growth of the organization and ensures CAND delivers value to, and is representative of, its membership and the profession. Overseeing membership engagement and growth, partnerships and government relations, events, and the strategic leadership of the organization, the Executive Director is also responsible for the successful operation of the organization, including financial management and human resources. As CAND grows, the Executive Director will play a key role in the development of people and culture, and will build, lead and inspire a small and dedicated team.

CAND is seeking a service-oriented leader who is a collaborative and approachable leader.  With an understanding of the health care system and the role of an association in promoting the interests of its members, you have demonstrated the ability to build and cultivate productive relationships with government and key stakeholders.  You bring a track record of working with tact and diplomacy to achieve a common vision and have a strong appreciation for a professional member focused association. You have a demonstrated track record of success in senior leadership roles with strategic planning functions and working with Boards/Committees.   With experience gained in a smaller organization, you are comfortable being hands-on with the execution of management responsibilities of a non-profit organization.  You are excited by the opportunity to ensure CAND continues to be a recognized stakeholder with the Federal government and promoting and increasing greater awareness of CAND’s value on a national basis.
