part time - temporary / contract  •  $20/hour

Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Deliver technology training sessions to older adults - topics, structure, and content for each presentation will be provided.
  • Arrive 45 minutes before the start time of each presentation to ensure proper room set-up, greet volunteers and register participants.
  • Deliver the presentation which will last a half hour to 45 minutes.
  • Following each presentation match volunteers with attendees for additional help, to answer questions and encourage practice of what has been taught.
  • Supervise this help session which will last 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • At the end of each session encourage attendees to participate in Cyber-Seniors virtual sessions and to use the telephone tech support as needed.
  • At the end of each session distribute satisfaction surveys to be completed by participants.
  • Prepare and send report to Cyber-Seniors.

Note: Additional work (such as delivery of flyers, visiting local high schools to recruit volunteers and online technology assistance) may be available for interested candidates.

 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Current knowledge of software programs, apps and technology in general is required.
  • Proficient in both reading and speaking English.
  • Bachelor’s degree or College diploma an asset.
  • Prior teaching experience an asset.
  • Proficiency in languages other than English as asset.
