Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Deliver technology training sessions to older adults - topics, structure, and content for each presentation will be provided.
- Arrive 45 minutes before the start time of each presentation to ensure proper room set-up, greet volunteers and register participants.
- Deliver the presentation which will last a half hour to 45 minutes.
- Following each presentation match volunteers with attendees for additional help, to answer questions and encourage practice of what has been taught.
- Supervise this help session which will last 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- At the end of each session encourage attendees to participate in Cyber-Seniors virtual sessions and to use the telephone tech support as needed.
- At the end of each session distribute satisfaction surveys to be completed by participants.
- Prepare and send report to Cyber-Seniors.
Note: Additional work (such as delivery of flyers, visiting local high schools to recruit volunteers and online technology assistance) may be available for interested candidates.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Current knowledge of software programs, apps and technology in general is required.
- Proficient in both reading and speaking English.
- Bachelor’s degree or College diploma an asset.
- Prior teaching experience an asset.
- Proficiency in languages other than English as asset.
