This is a part-time, 30 hours per week position available immediately.

You will be working with a team of administrative assistants and managerial staff at our provincial office.  Conveniently located in the business core of Abbotsford BC, the Bethesda provincial office offers an easy commute within Abbotsford and from neighbouring communities in Langley, Chilliwack, and Mission.

   

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process accounts receivable transactions, including posting payments and reconciling accounts.
  • Process deposits and issue donation receipts.
  • Complete reconciliations for banking records and government funding contracts.
  • Assist with preparing budgets and financial statements.
  • Assist with government and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with preparing income tax returns.
  • Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
  • Assist with maintaining payroll records and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay and benefits.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient with bookkeeping and possess a strong attention to detail.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable and/or payroll administration preferred.
  • Self-directed and able to take initiative.
  • Exhibit analytical problem-solving with a strong intuition for navigating complexities and anticipating future challenges.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite.
  • Possession of Canadian, landed immigrant or legal working status.
  • Standard requirements (criminal record check, medical clearance, ICBC driving record).
  • Personal values in line with Bethesda’s Christian foundations and Guiding Principles.
  • Full COVID-19 immunization.

  • Hiring bonus: $100 at time of hire, another $200 after 1 year of continuous employment and completion of all job requirements.
