The Francis Winspear Centre for Music is seeking a dynamic individual as a Digital Marketing Specialist. We are looking for an employee who is excited to be part of our music-centered, community-driven organization for this permanent full-time position.

As one of Canada's premier music venues, the Francis Winspear Centre for Music provides musical experiences rooted in creativity, imagination, and excellence. We emphasize the importance of live experiences, hosting music groups and individuals of all abilities, anchored by our resident artists, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Since 1997, the Winspear Centre has been a cornerstone of Edmonton’s Arts District, welcoming 250,000 visitors annually for musical performances, rehearsals, literary events, meetings, receptions, graduations, and educational programs. Currently, we are expanding the Winspear Centre with a new second performance hall, classrooms, and mixed-use immersive spaces.

Job Summary:  

The Digital Marketing Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing digital marketing strategies across various platforms. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of the latest digital marketing trends and techniques, with deep experience in email marketing and digital advertising on Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google ad platforms. This role requires a creative, analytical, and strategic thinker who can drive results and enhance our digital presence. 

This position works at home and at the Winspear Centre, and requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create, implement, and manage digital ad campaigns on Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google ad platforms 
  • Optimize ad performance through A/B testing, targeting strategies, and budget management 
  • Monitor and analyze key metrics to measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly 
  • Develop, implement, and optimize email marketing campaigns to engage and nurture audiences and convert ticket sales 
  • Manage and grow email lists, segment audiences, and personalize content to increase open and click-through rates 
  • Analyze campaign performance and implement improvements based on data-driven insights 
  • Collaborate with the content team to develop engaging and relevant that helps drive conversions in digital campaigns 
  • Ensure all digital content aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives 
  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics for all digital marketing activities 
  • Use data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement 
  • Present findings and recommendations to the marketing team and senior management 
  • Implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and drive website traffic 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends, research, tools, and best practices 
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and competitive strategies 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent in a related field.  
  • 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a focus on email marketing and digital advertising 
  • Proficiency in Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Ads Manager and Google Ads 
  • Deep experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Wordfly, HubSpot, or similar) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ad copywriting tailored for conversion 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions 
  • Good understanding of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and SEO, SEM 
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies 
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Clear criminal record check 
  • Comfortable with a flexible schedule and irregular hours 

Preferred Skills:  

  • Experience with marketing automation tools 
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) 
  • Ability to pull key insights from raw data 
  • Familiarity in using AI tools for productivity and analysis 
  • Ability to multitask when needed but also enjoy producing a lot during deep work sessions 
  • Experience working in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint) 
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email and web content is considered an asset 
  • Knowledge of Tessitura (arts organization software) is considered an asset
