Burnaby Neighbourhood House is a non-profit organization offering a wide range of supportive programs and services that address the diverse needs of local residents. Located on the traditional, unceded territories of the Coast Salish Nations, we are a volunteer-driven community-funded agency with a unique focus on neighbours supporting neighbours.
Job Description:
The Community Resources Administrator will assist the Project and Volunteer Manager with various projects and initiatives. This is a part-time position with flexible hours during weekdays.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in processing applications for various programs such as the Camping Bureau, Fair Play, Burnaby Christmas Bureau, and Coldest Night of the Year.
- Accurately report on all programs and maintain program statistics.
- Support the Manager with administrative tasks related to resource materials and major publications.
- Communicate with community partners and agencies to ensure the accuracy of content for publications.
- Distribute information material to community partners, neighbours, and Burnaby residents.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all materials and distribution volumes.
- Administer the central intake of volunteers, including screening, setting up interviews, conducting criminal record checks, and managing documentation.
- Assist the Manager in volunteer onboarding, general orientation, and training.
- Maintain the volunteer database, including application forms, reference checks, and statistics.
- Support general administrative tasks related to operations.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to community building and empowering people.
- Experience working and/or volunteering with a non-profit charitable organization.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
- Strong computing skills, specifically working experience with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Access and MS Outlook, InDesign, and other Adobe products or publishing software.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision, as well as in a collaborative team setting.
- The ability to communicate in a language other than English would be an asset.
- Class 5 Driver's License and access to a vehicle.

Accountability: This position reports to the Project & Volunteer Manager
Hours & Pay Rate: 20 hours per week plus. Rate: $21.20 – $22.49 per hour
