Working at NGM

Full-time 40 hours per week, $24-26.50/hour + flexible benefits. Generous time off: 3 weeks vacation, 55 wellness hours, closed between Christmas - New Year's.

 

Work is fully remote. You must be legally entitled to work in Canada, with a preference to be based in British Columbia, Alberta, or Ontario.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator will drive awareness of and engagement with Next Gen Men’s programs and offerings through various digital marketing strategies while advancing gender equity and positive masculinities. 

Responsibilities

  • Execute digital marketing strategies to bring NGM’s vision and mission to life.

  • Plan and execute product, event, and/or content marketing campaigns from start to finish, including writing compelling copy and designing eye-catching graphics.

  • Compile, write, design, and ship our weekly newsletter, highlighting NGM’s expertise, events, and offerings to add value to existing subscribers, convert product sales, and grow our overall subscribership.

  • Write and proofread copy for various platforms and channels, such as social media and our blog, ensuring a consistent NGM voice.

  • Visually translate complex or abstract concepts into engaging and relevant graphics, animations and/or videos.

  • Monitor campaign performance on an ongoing basis by analyzing key metrics and reporting on learnings to drive successful outcomes across channels.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Social marketing: able to effectively pitch products and offers and the broader vision of NGM.

  • Knowledge translation: possess a strong ability to grasp and tailor the tone, expertise level, or content to clearly communicate nuanced concepts and offerings to multiple target audiences.

  • Copywriting: write to inspire action from multiple target audiences in a variety of formats, including social media posts, long-form content, blogs, website copy, and newsletters.

  • Social media: experience managing multiple social media accounts, with emphasis on LinkedIn and Instagram and experience using social media scheduling tools, with a preference for Later.

  • Analytics: monitor and report on NGM’s social media channels, website analytics, and trends to identify opportunities or gaps.

  • Websites: familiarity with the fundamentals of SEO and website optimization on Squarespace and Shopify is considered an asset.

  • Visual storytelling: able to create engaging, attractive, and creative graphics, animations and/or videos that effectively communicate nuanced concepts.

  • Nice-to-Have’s:

    • Proficiency with design tools, including Canva and the Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Animate).

    • Post-secondary education in Communications, English, Business or Marketing – or equivalent experience.

    • Experience communicating social justice issues, event marketing, or working with nonprofits.

    • Familiarity with the pro-feminist men’s movement, gender equity, gender-based violence, and patriarchy.
