This Position: The Building Incredible Babies (BIB) Home Visitor works one-on-one with at-risk pregnant women and their babies by providing prenatal and infant support and education, connection to community programs, and resources to support nutrition. The BIB Home Visitor works with a caseload of prenatal clients and supports them until six months postnatal. The BIB Home Visitor also facilitates regular educational groups, including a monthly virtual cooking group.

Home Visitation Supports: Building Incredible Babies, Healthy Families, and the Infant Preschool Wellness Program deliver home visitation supports using a holistic approach designed to strengthen and enrich families with children prenatally to six years old. We support early childhood experiences aimed at fostering optimal child development and healthy parent-child attachment. Supports include parent education opportunities created with a focus on building on and enhancing each family's capacity. Providing information and referrals is vital to supporting families to grow and learn within their community.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Human Services or equivalent with one to three years of early childhood experience
  • Strong knowledge of prenatal development and pregnancy, infant development, parenting skills, and working with families from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience with group facilitation and planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Current Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check (prior to starting employment with FSCA)
  • Experience in home visitation, group facilitation/adult education
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds

Position Summary

      •    Maintain a caseload of 20-30 clients

     •     Provide monthly in-home visits to offer prenatal and infant care supports

     •     Maintain a strong knowledge of community resources and offer referrals as needed

    •      Provide reliable, accurate information from trusted sources on prenatal and infant care

    •      Focus on parent/caregiver strengths and capabilities

   •       Provide strategies that support healthy infant development

    •      Compile and enter necessary data and documentation while maintaining accurate, timely, complete      electronic and paper files.

•     Collaborate with Agency team members and community partners to provide optimal programs and services

•     Plan, organize and facilitate family education groups that reflect the needs and interests of participants

•     Allow for flexibility for occasional evening visits, as needed, to meet the needs of clients

•     Must be capable of being in homes where there may be animals, smoke, dust and other allergy-inducing elements
