Our Background

At the University Hospital Foundation, we want to help people live longer, and better – especially those who would benefit from a new form of treatment, or life-saving surgery.

As agents of hope, we boldly seek solutions to seemingly insurmountable challenges, matching the determination and purpose-driven intensity of the healthcare teams we support.

In the past ten years, generous donations from individuals and our corporate and strategic partners have contributed nearly $220 million dollars to advance world-leading patient care at the University of Alberta Hospital, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and Kaye Edmonton Clinic, as well as ground-breaking research at the University of Alberta.

Your Purpose

As the Prospect Research Specialist, your objective is to drive revenue generation through the development and growth of UHF’s donor base.

You will support the advancement of our mission by contributing to fund development strategy and supporting a high-performing team of fundraisers in meeting their goals. You will also provide specialized support to launch and sustain a comprehensive fundraising campaign.

Your Role

This role will report to the Manager of Research & Prospect Management. As the Prospect Research Specialist, you will help us transform healthcare by leveraging your analytical and research skills to provide essential support to UHF’s fundraising efforts. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include implementing a proactive prospect identification plan and measuring outcome; conducting thorough research and analysis to qualify prospects and assist fundraisers in managing relationships with existing donors; maintaining accurate data, monitoring data integrity and generating reporting and dashboards; and collaborating closely with fundraisers to develop effective donor engagement strategies and to manage portfolios and donor pipelines. You will also provide essential support for campaigns by identifying and researching prospects and employing best practices for prospect management and reporting.

As the ideal candidate, you have strong analytical skills and expertise in data-driven decision-making. You excel at utilizing donor information to make recommendations on engagement strategies and transforming data sets into actionable insights for fundraising teams.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working collaboratively with a high-performing team, and are eager to make a difference in the health sector, we want to hear from you. Join us in telling impactful stories and driving positive change at the University of Alberta Hospital sites!

Qualifications

Education:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma; a degree in Library Sciences would be considered an asset.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in research and prospect management, preferably within a fundraising organization.
  • Strong knowledge of research and prospect management best practice and research tools (i.e. iWave, CharityCan).
