The Role

As a Human Resources Coordinator at Second Harvest, you will work closely with the Human Resources team to manage key HR processes and serve as a vital contact point for staff throughout their journey, from recruitment and onboarding to continuous support. Your dedication and expertise will be crucial in ensuring a positive and enriching experience for every team member as well as cultivating a supportive and engaging work environment.

 

Your Impact

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Support with full cycle recruitment including posting job opportunities, sorting applications, and assisting in the screening and interview process.
  • Oversee new hire processes including background checks, system enrollments, and initial training.
  • Support with new hire documentation and record keeping.
  • Coordinate and conduct onboarding sessions and gather feedback to continuously improve the onboarding experience.

 

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Assist with the administration of benefits and payroll adjustments in coordination with external vendors and internal payroll staff.

 

Administration and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data, ensuring timely updates and compliance.
  • Prepare HR documents and reports, supporting the HR team in data presentation and communication tasks.
  • Research and draft HR policies to ensure they align with current laws and best practices, regularly updating procedures to reflect changes and organizational needs.
  • Proactively identify and recommend opportunities to simplify and enhance HR processes, ensuring greater efficiency and effectiveness in our operations.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.

 

Who You Are

  • Organized and Efficient: You are detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills and a proven ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Collaborative and Inclusive: Known for your positive work style, you're a team player who builds trust through honesty and transparent communication.
  • Skilled Communicator: You possess strong interpersonal skills and are adept at providing exceptional customer service and diplomacy. You have excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Educated and Experienced: A background in Human Resources or Business Administration is required. CHRP designation or progress towards it is a plus.
  • Skilled Communicator: You excel in both verbal and written communication, possess strong interpersonal skills, and are known for your exceptional customer service and diplomatic approach.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and HRIS systems. Experience with data visualization and AI technology is advantageous.
