Hours: Full time- 35 hrs per week

Location: Hybrid: In-person at our Vancouver office and virtual

Compensation: $61,225 - $64,647

Job Purpose

Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) is a community-based, non-profit organization serving immigrant and refugee women and their young children since 1975. PIRS delivers accessible, inclusive, low-barrier programs for immigrant and refugee women and their children that create a sense of belonging, meaningful participation and leadership.

The purpose of the Program Manager position is to manage all aspects of the Women Leadership and Development programs at PIRS https://pirs.bc.ca/womens-leadership-and-training/ 

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Program Management
  • Lead the planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of all program activities that involve the delivery of capacity-building and training modules, in collaboration with other team members
  • Ensure that PIRS is meeting its funded target deliverables within budget and according to the work plan
  • Lead program team members, provide mentorship and coaching support
  • Build and maintain relationships with various project stakeholders, including program funders, various partners and participants
  • Ensure that the program is aligned with the principles and values of PIRS in every aspect
  • Provide program reporting to the funders, internally, and other stakeholders as needed
  1. Financial Management
  • Manage forecasts, budgets and cash flows
  • Liaise with the funders and PIRS Finance and Accounting Department ensuring that financial reporting is done correctly and on time
  • Ensure program continuity and financial sustainability
  1. Human Resource Management
  • Recruit, onboard, train and manage program staff and volunteers
  • Implement PIRS HR and Program policies and ensure that we are meeting all relevant standards (Employment, WCB, Human Rights, etc.) and regulations on professional certification
  1. Administration
  • Establish and maintain systems for program documentation and filing
  • Foster and maintain effective communication with staff, volunteers, partners, and management
  • Provide guidance for program administrative staff
  • Perform, establish or change other administrative tasks as suited for overall efficiency

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing programs and projects in the non-profit sector
  • Background in women's leadership and development, especially for racialized, immigrant and refugee women
  • Strong practical understanding of systems change and advocacy work, gender equity, anti-racism, and inclusion in the Canadian context
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of experience and education (Women Studies, Social Work, Human & Social Development, or the Social Sciences preferred)
  • Leadership skills and capabilities, entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects in a changing environment, including excellent organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of financial management
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, both in teams and autonomously
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed approaches
  • Proficient in using various software and digital tools
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly; growth mindset
  • Understanding of the intersecting barriers and unique needs of immigrant and refugee women
  • Possession of non-judgmental and genuinely positive attitudes (culture, religion, race, gender, sexuality, special needs, etc.) and freedom from stereotypes
  • Passion for inclusivity and diversity, and interest in being part of a multicultural team is an asset
  • Experience working with provincial and federal funding is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills; additional language skills are an asset
  • Attitudes and values aligned with the goals and philosophy of PIRS
