As intentional community assistant in an intentional community, you will support and assist people in an attractive and modern 9-unit townhouse community in Chilliwack, BC.
In an intentional community, each person is free to make choices about how to live, when and who visits, if and where they work, which activities to participate in, how they decorate their homes, what they eat, and which friendships and relationships they pursue. With their shared core values and goals, they strengthen and build each other up, fostering unity within diversity.
You will join a team committed to helping the people you support live as full and self-directed lives as possible in such areas as emotional and spiritual well-being, interpersonal relationships, material well-being, and social inclusion.
You must have the desire and capacity to support people with diverse abilities and must believe that the person receiving support is uniquely valuable.
JOB OVERVIEW:
As intentional community assistant, you will assist the intentional community coordinator in overseeing the intentional community home setting, the 24-hour staffed supported home, and the community-based services. In the coordinator’s absence, you will ensure that daily care of the people supported is maintained with regard to personal care, program implementation, and staff supervision.
