POSITION Participant Recruitment Assistant
TERM Permanent, 35-hours work week.
SALARY $40 000 to $45 000 per year.
LOCATION Remote, Lower Mainland BC or GTA , Canada
This role reports to the Participant Recruitment Officer. As the Participant Recruitment Assistant, you will be responsible for for helping to recruit Participants for Katimavik's Programs. This role will engage with under-represented communities to ensure the most suitable candidates become Participants.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Recruitment (40%)
Source, recruit, screen, and assist in selecting participants aged 17-30 from diverse backgrounds and legally residing in Canada (including citizens, permanent residents, and landed refugees).
Conduct presentations at youth organizations, schools, and post-secondary institutions to promote Katimavik’s programs.
Represent Katimavik at conferences, job fairs, and youth events.
Coordinate alumni involvement in recruitment efforts.
Administrative Responsibilities (30%)
Maintain and update participant recruitment data in CRM systems.
Establish and manage a network of community resources for participant recruitment.
Maintain databases of stakeholders, community contacts, applicants, and participants.
Candidate Onboarding and Support: (15%)
Administer background checks and ensure completion of application forms and pre-departure requirements.
Communicate travel information to participants.
Notify accepted and waitlisted candidates and ensure understanding of program requirements.
Engagement with Minority Groups: (15%)
Cultivate meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities, 2SLGBTQ+ groups, and other minority organizations.
Ensure awareness of Katimavik’s programs and encourage applications from these communities.
YOU ARE THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IF
You pursue excellence in your work, meticulously attending to details and taking initiative to realize untapped potential.
Fully bilingual in English and French, with knowledge of Indigenous, Métis, and/or Inuit languages considered an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities.
Experience working with youth and under-represented communities.
Familiarity with recruitment processes and tools, including Salesforce.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A diploma or degree in Human Resources, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
Previous experience in recruitment, especially within a non-profit or youth-focused organization, is preferred.
Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations is an asset.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as required.
