the opportunity
The Program Coordinator will manage, coordinate, and oversee the Job Ready program, leading a dedicated team to guide and support newcomers and immigrants in identifying and achieving their employment goals. This role will through a client -centred approach provide holistic support to facilitate their successful integration into the Canadian workforce.
THE CHALLENGE
As the Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing team members who are funded under both provincial and federal funded agreements, ensuring they have the resources and guidance necessary to deliver comprehensive services, such as resume and cover letter creation, interview preparation, and understanding of Canadian workplace culture. You will also play a pivotal role in various managerial responsibilities, including team building, networking, and implementing strategies to improve workflow. Additionally, you will manage budgets, solve complex problems, and foster connections to enhance our programming. Your efforts will ensure that our team operates efficiently and effectively, ultimately providing the best possible support to newcomers.
what it takes?
While all backgrounds will be considered, the most helpful history will likely involve post secondary education career development, education, social work, or project management, complimented by 5 years’ experience in employment services; OR equivalent combination of experience and training which includes management and supervisory training/certification, career and employment counselling, and program/project coordination and the ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check. Experience and passion for good relations, advocacy, and disruption of traditional approaches and systems for more inclusive and equitable experiences for immigrants are desired.
