CultureLink Settlement and Community Services (CultureLink) is a Not-for-Profit settlement and community organization with more than 35 years’ experience in developing and delivering services in various locations in the GTA to meet the needs of diverse communities. Passionate about providing innovative services, we adapt to changes and create new programs that best respond to and address our clients’ specific needs.
CultureLink has a team of over 70 staff members, speaking 30+ languages, and is funded by various levels of Government, United Way Greater Toronto, various foundations, corporations and charitable giving.
Our services connect cultures to build welcoming communities. We assist newcomers looking for employment, help families navigate the school system, and provide youth with the skills necessary for bright and successful futures. We support refugees and bring together newcomers and established Canadians.
Job Summary
The Senior Manager oversees program managers to plan and monitor the successful direction of programs, ensuring all key deliverables are met. Core responsibilities include building and strengthening relationships with partners, funders and other stakeholders; effective mentoring, guidance, and support of the program managers to meet and exceed the agency’s strategic goals related to quality service provision, accountability and equity. Proven experience and/or training in working with employees and clients from diverse backgrounds as well as strong conflict resolution skills are critical for the role’s success.
Duties
Program Management:
Supervise and support program managers, assistant managers, providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to enhance their performance and professional growth.
Oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of all new and existing program activities and initiatives.
Monitor program performance, outcomes, and impact, and make recommendations for improvements or adjustments as needed.
Foster strong communication and coordination across departments to facilitate seamless operations and alignment of efforts.
Maintain systems for monitoring and evaluating program performance, including the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
Oversee regular reports and presentations for senior management, the board, funders, and other stakeholders on program outcomes, impact, and effectiveness.
Leadership and Strategic Planning:
Provide leadership and direction to the team by encouraging effective, ongoing dialogue to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Builds and maintains professional relationships with key external partners ensuring CultureLink is strongly represented at key networks and tables
Contribute to CultureLink’s strategic plan initiatives and growth strategies across the agency to align with the organization's mission, goals, and objectives.
Promote integration of strategic initiatives, including assessing capabilities and resources needed for new projects and driving development
Manage plans to support implementation projects, working with external and internal stakeholders to deliver on aligned goals
Work with the senior leadership team to prepare analyses, reports and presentations to drive progress towards established goals and insights
Ensure the implementation of agency wide performance management program, support recruitment and selection processes as required
Stay up to date on changing policies and latest research on practices in the sector
Passion for the work CultureLink does, and an ability to use that passion to motivate others
Financial Management
Work closely with Finance team for budget development and funding approvals
Effectively monitor program budgets and maintain best practices in expense management to ensure timely spending and submission of claims and expenses
Contribute to financial policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's assets.
Collaborate with program managers to create accurate and realistic budget projections.
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or Management or a combination of equivalent experience in a relevant area and education
A minimum of 5 years of experience in program development, delivery/management in non-profit or a related sector
Strong leadership experience with management-level teams using an approach that fosters individual and team strengths while encouraging development
Experience supervising staff in a unionized environment will be an asset.
Demonstrated experience in the immigrant and refugee serving sector including a strong understanding of issues facing newcomers
Knowledge and experience implementing high quality programs and services, data and evaluation systems, leading others to ensure solid data and evidence are collected and analyzed;
Experience using online tools and platforms to enhance and complement in-person service;
Proven skills in developing and writing successful funding proposals and producing funder reports;
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of maintaining positive relationships with partners, funders and stakeholders; and
Expertise in cultivating team collaboration
Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening in the past six months
Must be authorized to work in Canada
