About Us:

The Crisis Line Association of BC (CLABC) is the provincial association representing member crisis lines from across BC. The organization, formed in 1998, became a registered non-profit society on March 14, 2007, and is dedicated to ensuring that every person in BC has access to the needed emotional support and critical services that crisis lines provide.

 

Position Summary:

The Membership & Communications Coordinator will play a crucial role in strengthening the internal cohesion and active engagement of the CLABC’s membership base. This position is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that effectively inform, involve, and inspire both current and potential members about the organization's activities and goals. With a focus on nurturing a vibrant community, the coordinator will manage membership communications, coordinate activities, and provide administrative support to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a keen ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Membership Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to engage and expand CLABC’s membership base. Create and manage communication campaigns that inform, involve, and inspire current and potential members.
  • Internal Communications: Facilitate effective communication channels within the organization, ensuring that all members are informed and engaged with the CLABC’s goals and updates.
  • Event Coordination and Support: Assist in organizing and managing events that promote member involvement. This includes logistics, registration, and post-event follow-up.
  • Administrative Support: Perform various administrative duties including managing schedules, maintaining databases, and preparing meeting minutes. Ensure that all communication and membership records are accurately maintained and updated.
  • Research and Documentation: Conduct research on topics relevant to the CLABC’s focus areas. Prepare detailed reports, briefs, and presentations for internal use to support decision-making and strategy development as requested.
  • Collaborative Projects: Work closely with different teams within the organization to gather information and support their communication needs. Ensure that all communication strategies align with the overall mission and objectives.
  • Material Development: Prepare communication materials tailored to internal stakeholders, including newsletters, emails, and update reports that keep the membership well-informed and connected.
  • Strategy Monitoring and Adjustment: Evaluate the effectiveness of communication and membership strategies, making necessary adjustments to
    enhance engagement and achieve desired outcomes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within a non-profit organization focused on development, marketing, sales, or communications.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective communication and marketing strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive, and concise materials.
  • Experience with digital communication platforms and analytics tools, understanding their role in strategy development.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team, showing initiative and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of CLABC and an understanding of the mental health and crisis intervention landscape in BC.
