JOB SUMMARY:

The Seniors’ Coordinator will support participants and community members, deliver programs, act as a meaningful team member and demonstrate leadership skills to volunteers, placement students, and community partners to ensure collaborative and meaningful responses to the needs and issues of participants within the context of the program

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to managers/leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to the community.
  • Uphold Occupational Health and Safety principles in all work situations
  • Facilitate programs, offer appropriate referrals, and provide to frail, isolated seniors and caregivers.
  • Supervise and assist facilitators, practicum students, and volunteers.
  • Conduct publicity, promotion, and community outreach activities for the program.
  • Monitor working hours, schedules, activities, and supplies.
  • Collect and provide accurate data and reports as required.
  • Generate weekly schedules and assign responsibilities for activities.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Create and maintain a safe, stimulating, and unbiased environment for participants.
  • Assist with administrative tasks.
  • Perform additional assigned duties.

 

Qualifications (Skills/Knowledge/Experience):

  • Relevant degree or diploma in fields such as project management, HR management, office administration, community development, or social work.
  • Minimum two years of experience in non-profit operations or related fields.
  • Experience working with older adults and caregivers.
  • Strong client service orientation, adept at handling tense situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build trusting relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, including delivering business presentations.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, skilled in negotiations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to planning and follow-up.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to change.
  • Sensitivity to diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Willingness to work various shifts in both virtual and in-person environments, including evenings and weekends, within the Peel region.
