About the Role
The Distribution & Logistics Coordinator works to support food acquisition through successful implementation of food sharing logistics. Primary responsibilities include assisting with logistics for the intake and distribution of food donations across the country.
What You Will Be Doing
Assist with coordinating the day-to-day logistics of the National Food Sharing System (NFSS) that includes accepting offers from donors (donors may include manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, etc.) and working with transport and other logistics partners to distribute goods to food bank organizations across the country
Assess in-coming donations and work with provincial associations and food bank hubs to distribute food and other goods in an equitable manner
Responsible for the on-going maintenance of accurate and detailed records relating to all donation offers, including net weight verification, shipping documentation and proof of delivery, in preparation for reporting and annual financial audits
Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders that include donors, the food bank network, warehousing and transportation partners, and other logistic providers
Work with transportation providers to obtain the best possible pricing, while ensuring service levels to donors and food banks are maintained
Work closely with donors and logistics partners to problem solve, overcoming obstacles and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner

What You Will Need
Completion of a post-secondary college diploma program or equivalent in a related field
Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in logistics and/or supply chain
Committed to providing the highest level of service to all stakeholders including donors, food banks and logistical partners
Adept problem solver
Organized and extremely detail oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple loads and donation offers simultaneously
Strong administrative skills with the ability and desire to keep accurate up-to-date records
Well-developed customer service and proven relationship management experience required (e.g. vendor/supplier)
Demonstrated initiative, action oriented and project coordination skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with software and internet-based logistics products
Working Conditions
Full-time, Monday-Friday, between 10:30am-6:30pm EST, with occasional evening and weekend work
This position is remote and may be based anywhere in Canada
Occasional travel within Canada may be required
