The Role:
As the Manager, Business Analysis Services, you will lead a team responsible for gathering business, functional, and non-functional requirements to support IT projects and service requests. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that business needs are translated into actionable technical specifications, driving the successful delivery of IT solutions. This role focuses on continuous process improvement, IT planning, and best practices in business analysis, while also fostering the development of your team and managing vendor relationships.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the team in gathering and documenting business requirements through stakeholder engagement, interviews, and workshops
Conduct gap analysis to identify areas for improvement in business processes, workflows, and systems
Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and mutual understanding
Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and timely delivery of IT solutions, ensuring adherence to scope and budget
Collaborate with IT and project management teams to ensure business requirements are met throughout the project life cycle
Conduct high-level analysis of potential IT solutions, evaluating risks, costs, and benefits
Review and validate technical documentation to ensure alignment with business needs
Provide mentorship, training, and performance management for the business analysis team
Manage vendor relationships to ensure successful collaboration and support for IT projects
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:
Proven success in managing large-scale IT projects from inception to completion, with strong organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Expertise in business analysis tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, JIRA, and Confluence, with a strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to foster a positive, empowering team environment, ensuring high engagement and performance
Exceptional communication skills to effectively present complex technical ideas in a business-friendly manner, while building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, including the ability to assess risks, evaluate solutions, and provide high-quality, customer-focused IT services
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a similar role, with a at least 5 years working in a project management environment
A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience leading a business analysis or related team
An Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related business discipline is preferred
Certification as a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) are all assets
Experience in the public sector is an asset
Hybrid Combines on-site office work with work-from-home flexibility.
Travel Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Additional Info: Team: Business Analysis Services Term/Status: Regular/Full time Classification/Salary: Excluded Band 3: Position starts at $84,942 to $106,177 annually. This position is under exclusion review
