Luke’s Place is an award-winning centre of excellence in family law support for women who have been subjected to intimate partner violence. We provide legal support services and summary legal services to hundreds of women and their children across Ontario every year and share our expertise with thousands of service providers.
Luke’s Place conducts research to understand the impact of legal and related systems and processes on women’s lives. We engage in advocacy to share these findings and improve these systems and processes. Luke’s Place envisions a family law system that promotes healthy safe families, living free from abuse, and the threat of abuse.

Position Overview:
Luke’s Place is seeking a full-time collaborative Communications Coordinator, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience to engage in such activities as leading implementation of our communications toolkit, creating promotional materials, managing our websites, creating effective social media campaigns, and managing a weekly blog. This position requires an on-site presence at our Oshawa office.

An Excellent Communicator – you bring with you the ability to quickly build rapport with trainees and in-house teams. Your verbal style must be confident, reassuring, positive, and clear.
Social Media Savvy – you are confident producing engaging and relevant content tailored to different platforms, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
Exceptionally Organized – you are self-motivated and manage your time well. As a key go-to person in the organization, you must be able to organize and reorganize your day to meet often conflicting priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive communications plan to support organizational objectives and initiatives
· Create compelling and persuasive content for various communication channels, including press releases, newsletters, websites, blogs, social media and marketing materials
· Manage the organization’s social media presence, ensuring timely and engaging posts to interact with the audience and grow our online community
· Ensure all promotional materials comply with organization standards and branding
· Respond to media inquiries and maintain relationships with journalists and other members of the press
· Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, stakeholders, and partners to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation
· Create annual reports that promote the organization’s work and accomplishments to stakeholders and donors
· Develop a variety of unique campaigns including the promotion of our work and fundraising campaigns
· Fulfill any communication requirements of grant proposals and maintain regular statistics on engagement with online resources and social media posts
· Maintain the organization’s websites ensuring content accuracy, and optimizing user experience
· Maintain and implement communications toolkit
Requirements and Qualifications:
· Post-secondary diploma/degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related/equivalent education
· Minimum 3 years' experience in a marketing or communications role
· Proven experience managing campaigns across a variety of social media platforms
· Exceptional written and oral communication, and editing skills
· Experience with desktop publishing, graphic design and website design is an asset
· Strong time management and organizational skills
· Understanding of accessibility best practices related to online engagement and content
· Tech-savvy, with proven experience in managing all hosting functions of virtual meetings and webinars
· Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite, Zoom, Adobe, Canva, WordPress and SurveyMonkey
· Proven ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
· Sound knowledge and commitment to an intersectional feminist, gender-based analysis of GBV/woman abuse and anti-oppression values
· Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) values
· Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening)
