Role Overview:

The Awake Overnight Youth Recovery Support Worker position will be the primary overnight contact person for youth within the Supportive Recovery Program. The goal of the program is to build protective factors and mitigate risk factors for youth who have identified substance use as a barrier in their life. The role of the Awake Overnight Youth Recovery Support Worker is to support youth with life skills and support/assistance to the youth regarding their individualized case plan around their substance use and recovery goals. Will work with team in a holistic approach in regard to each youths’ individual needs around mental health, life skills, community supports, housing and other identified areas. Awake Overnight Youth Recovery Support Workers will also help to prepare the recovery programming for the youth as well as help to facilitate and prepare other activities such as outings and life skills development.

This is a permanent, full-time position working Sunday to Tuesday and every second Wednesday, 10 hour shifts from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. The hourly wage is $25.49-$29.55 per hour dependent on experience and related skills. The successful candidate can expect to enter the organization no higher than the midpoint of the compensation range. The Awake Overnight position receives an extra $2.00 per hour, in addition to the base hourly wage, for working awake overnight shifts.

Education & Experience

  • Degree such as Social Work, Child & Youth Care, or a related field
  • 2-3 years experience working with vulnerable populations and at-risk youth. Other combinations of education, experience and training will be considered.
  • Experience working within the recovery and addiction community, knowledge of SMART Recovery programming is an asset
  • ASIST training is an asset
  • NVCI training is an asset

 Working Conditions

  • Operates out of the Supportive Recovery Program site and Threshold main office
  • Threshold will provide a yearly training and professional development allowance

Other

  • Emergency 1st Aid certificate
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Immunization records, including TB testing and COVID 19 Vaccinations
  • Criminal Record Check, completed Threshold
  • Agree and follow our policies and processes
