Camp Gedi is an innovative summer camp in Toronto that focuses on social-emotional learning, child-led experiential learning, and outdoor exploration. We’re looking for passionate and creative Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT) who are excited about learning alongside the kids, challenging educational norms, and spending their summer immersed in nature.
Dates:
July 7-25, 2025 (Session #1)
August 5-22, 2025 (Session #2)
Family Festival Weekends (July 19/20 and August 16/17)
1 in-person training day in June and a self-paced online teacher coaching program (Graydin) prior to camp.
Location: Toronto (West End), with pickup/dropoff near Old Mill Station.
Responsibilities:
Lead groups of children (SK to Grade 7) in outdoor, experiential activities that focus on creativity, social-emotional learning, collaboration and community-building.
Foster an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for kids with varying support needs, including neurodiverse campers.
Engage in daily outdoor learning with children, encouraging curiosity and respect for nature.
Collaborate with other staff to plan and implement hands-on projects, community field trips, and nature-based activities.
Participate in two Family Festival Weekends to showcase the camp experience with families at Haute Goat Farm.
Who We’re Looking For:
Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) with elementary teaching experience.
Passion for child-led learning, outdoor education, and social-emotional learning (SEL).
Excited to work outdoors all day, leading and supporting kids in a dynamic, nature-focused environment.
Experience with neurodiverse learners or gifted programs is a bonus but not required.
Creative, flexible, and willing to challenge traditional education models.
Compensation:
$6,500 for both sessions, including Family Festival Weekends. Professional development is provided through the Graydin educator coaching course.
