Salary:                                               $28.00-$35.00 hourly based on experience

Nature & Scope:  

The Talent Acquisition Specialist leads high-volume recruitment for our YMCA BC. As a Talent Acquisition specialist, you are passionate about cultivating an amazing candidate journey from beginning to end. You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end recruitment and collaborating with hiring managers and senior leaders.

 

Major Responsibilities:

●       Perform high volume recruitment within tight timelines, including creating and updating job postings, shortlisting applications, coordinating interviews, leading interviews, making or facilitating hiring decisions, preparing letters of offer and hiring packages, extending job offers, collecting and submitting all new hire paperwork and documentation, and communicating all status updates, and enduring accurate record-keeping and documentation throughout the recruitment process.

●       Build trusting relationships with hiring managers to understand and support their current and future hiring needs.

●       Provide guidance to candidates regarding employment terms and conditions to ensure transparency

●       Answer general phone inquiries and monitor the HR email account to direct emails as needed

●       Update and maintain secure confidential personnel files for employees

●       Call or email to complete reference checks for potential job applicants

●       Submit applications for Criminal Records Checks online to the Ministry of Justice

●       Attend career fairs and employment events to promote the organization and publicize current employment opportunities

●       Comply with all relevant policies and legislation including the Employment Standards Act, BC Human Rights Code, YMCA policies and procedures, related employment laws, and other applicable agreements

 

Qualifications/Experience:

●       2+ years of recruitment experience, ideally within a fast-paced or high-volume environment.

●       Experience with attracting and sourcing candidates within remote communities

●       Preferably a diploma or degree in a related program

●       Experience or knowledge in fundamental human resources principles and practices.

●       Excellent oral and written communication skills

●       Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

●       Proficient with MS Office Suite for word processing, spreadsheets, email systems and database applications

●       Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding start date
