Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization and a global leader in combating food waste, is seeking an experienced and innovative Director of National Operations to join their expanding team!

Second Harvest is at the forefront of innovation, working to reduce food loss and waste by redistributing surplus food to communities in need across Canada. Partnering with thousands of food businesses and non-profits from coast to coast to coast, Second Harvest is creating a sustainable future where good food is never wasted.

The Director of National Operations will play a vital role in optimizing Second Harvest’s national logistics and strengthening partnerships with community organizations and non-profit food programs across Canada. This leader will ensure that food rescue efforts are impactful, efficient, and sustainable. Leading a dynamic National Operations team, the Director will bring strategic vision and operational excellence to help Second Harvest continue making a difference across every province and territory.

This role will involve travel across Canada to support regional teams, build strategic partnerships, and leverage data and technology to enhance community engagement. The Director will be instrumental in maximizing impact by developing innovative, measurable solutions that meet the needs of communities nationwide.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-oriented leader with experience working in non-profit programs and community development. They are an inspiring team builder, strategic thinker, and exceptional communicator who excels at fostering relationships and transforming ideas into action. With a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and adaptability, they are skilled at navigating complex challenges. Fluency in both English and French is an asset.
