Hours:

  • Morning Shift: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
  • Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (depending on school)

Wage: Competitive pay, varies based on position and experience

About Fun on the Run:
Fun on the Run is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children before and after school, providing activities that encourage learning, social skills, and active play. Our team is looking for dedicated Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and Assistants who are passionate about guiding children and fostering positive experiences in a structured, fun program.

Position Overview:
As part of the Fun on the Run Before and After School team, you’ll provide engaging activities, help with homework, and create a welcoming environment where school-age children can unwind and prepare for their day. ECEs will lead the program planning and structure, while Assistants will provide essential support to the team and help supervise activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage social, emotional, and cognitive growth (ECEs)
  • Assist in leading games, crafts, and other recreational activities that keep children engaged and active (Assistants)
  • Supervise children closely to ensure a safe, inclusive environment
  • Foster positive relationships and open communication with children, parents, and school staff
  • Provide basic homework support and encourage positive behavior
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the program space
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of all children

Requirements:

  • For ECE Position: Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) and a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education
  • For Assistant Position: Prior experience working with children or in a school/childcare setting is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to create a positive, welcoming atmosphere
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Vulnerable sector check and criminal reference check
  • Enthusiasm for working with school-age children and supporting their growth
