Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Position Overview
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children facing behavioral and emotional challenges? Join our dynamic team as a Behavioral Consultant, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting children who are awaiting diagnosis or assessment. In this impactful position, you'll work closely with families and professionals, using evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to create personalized intervention plans and promote positive, lasting outcomes. If you're ready to collaborate, innovate, and help children reach their full potential, we want to hear from you!
Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will be conducting comprehensive functional assessments, analyze data, and develop individualized ABA-based intervention plans to address children’s behaviors and promote skill development. This role involves providing one-on-one support in home and community settings, integrating interventions into daily routines, and working closely with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., speech, OT, PT, school staff). The Behavioral Consultant will monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and ensure a smooth transition to other services while staying up to date with best practices in the field. Regular reporting and participation in team meetings will help ensure the effectiveness of interventions and outcomes for children and families. The Behavioral Consultant will build strong, collaborative relationships with families and caregivers to foster positive behavior change, using culturally responsive, strengths-based approaches.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, special education, psychology, or a related field, with a BCBA qualification strongly preferred. At least 3 years of experience supporting children with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities, including conducting functional behavior assessments and developing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs), is highly desirable.
The candidate must have a solid understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, the ability to effectively communicate with families and stakeholders, and strong skills in data analysis to inform intervention decisions. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse families and professionals.
This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
