Job Title: ​Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Adult Day Program setting

 

Work Site: The West End Adult Day Care Centre Society – 2110 w 12th Ave., Vancouver, BC

 

Status: Part time 

 

Start Date: As soon as possible 

 

Salary: $32.84 - 36.46 per hour

 

Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm - Tuesday through Friday (24 hours per week)

As an LPN at the West End ADP/New Roots you will:

 

  • Perform practical nursing functions for clients including activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting client care, and providing support to clients and their families. Assist seniors with medication intake, dietary and toileting needs.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of a care team and support the Recreation staff and Rehab Asst. in caring for clients in a community day program setting. Assist with the implementation of cognitive, physical and social activities.
  • Work under the direction of the Director in caring for our frail elders living in the community.
  • Provide educational information and educational health sessions to clients, their caregivers, staff and volunteers and support them to live a healthy lifestyle.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education & Experience

 

Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses.

Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Ability to deal with others effectively.

Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Ability to organize work.

Ability to operate related equipment.

Fully vaccinated from Covid-19 / Flu Vaccination
