About the position

CHN is currently seeking a Relationship Manager Support person located in Quebec City, who is available evenings and weekends as needed. As a Relationship Manager Support, you have strong relationship-building skills and can problem-solve issues as they arise. You will support in the overall success of the homestay program in Quebec City, by providing outstanding support to the team in this area. As an integral member of our Operations Team, Relationship Manager Supports must demonstrate excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.

This will be a part-time, as needed position, which would work best for a candidate looking for an additional part-time position. The successful candidate could see up to a maximum 5-10 hours or work per week and will be guaranteed 3 hours of pay minimum, regardless of the time worked.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Emergency student support including relocations, driving, and hospital visits with students when needed, including evenings and weekends
  • Act as the Custodian and assume custodianship duties for minor children/students under the age of 18 for the local region/community as required (up to 100 km)
  • Support homestay hosts, natural parents, and students in interpreting cultural practices and differences
  • Available to meet with students in person and complete school visits as needed
  • Some travel throughout Quebec City, and the surrounding area
  • Communicate and maintain accurate records
  • Support student and host family relationships throughout their program in a variety of ways
  • Report to the Virtual Relationship Manager and/or Program Lead with updates on all emergency situations and
  • Deliver student orientations in person or virtually when the student arrives
  • Respond to crisis situations in a prompt and caring manner and refer cases to health professionals where appropriate
  • Develop a local network of host families and continually develop and enhance relationships with both new and existing hosts in the region
  • Travel amongst the local community and surrounding areas

The successful candidate will have

  • One-year Community College Certificate or Diploma
  • Readily accessible transportation appropriate for these responsibilities (a minimum of $2 million auto insurance is required when using a personal vehicle)
  • International experience including hosting students or travelling abroad (preferred)
  • Ability to plan events and comfortability with public speaking
  • Great judgement and decision-making skills while exercising a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a potential of high-stress situations
  • Exceptional Customer Service skills and experience
  • Excellent Word, Excel, Email, and Database skills
  • Ability to confidently communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to hold yourself accountable while working independently
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with both colleagues and clients

This role requires the successful candidate to clear a Criminal Record Check, have a full and valid drivers license with a reliable vehicle that has at least 2 million auto insurance liability coverage, a mobile phone for emergency support, a digital camera, and access to high-speed internet.
