The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation (The Friends Foundation) is the philanthropic arm of The Moncton Hospital. The Friends Foundation inspires giving to fund new technologies, innovation, and renovated spaces. This helps to place the right tools in the hands of highly competent team of healthcare professionals strengthening patient care.
The Friends Foundation is seeking a Director, Major Gifts to oversee the organization’s major gifts program, focusing on cultivating and securing significant philanthropic contributions.
Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Major Gifts will lead strategy, donor engagement, and stewardship efforts while aligning initiatives with the Friends Foundation’s strategic priorities. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director will manage a small team, foster collaboration across departments, and act as a key representative of the Friends Foundation at events. They will also oversee recruitment, training of volunteers and oversee donor recognition programs to ensure a sustainable donor pipeline and the program’s long-term success.

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced fundraising professional with a proven track record in non-profits, healthcare, or similarly complex environments. A visionary leader, you excel at developing innovative fundraising strategies, engaging donors, and aligning major gifts programs with organizational priorities. You are a skilled mentor who fosters high-performing teams, builds trust, and drives accountability.
Relationship-oriented and well-networked, you understand the critical importance of building and maintaining strong relationships to drive philanthropic initiatives and goals. You are also data driven and leverage analytics to optimize fundraising strategies, identify donor trends, and forecast revenue. You value every donor and prioritize cultivating emerging prospect donors to ensure future sustainability. With strong communication skills and a systems-thinking approach, you navigate challenges with confidence, inspire teams, and thrive in dynamic environments while driving growth and innovation.
