POSITION DESCRIPTION

 
The group co-facilitator is responsible for assisting the lead facilitator in the preparation and delivery of a structured and manualized social-emotional skills program for groups of children and teens with learning and attention difficulties. This is a contractor position, and the number of groups the co-facilitator would be involved in is flexible, depending on preferences and availability. Groups may take place at the CanLearn office, in schools, and in the community. Co-facilitators will have the opportunity to work between 2.5 to 15 hours per week. 

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the lead facilitator with implementing social-emotional activities and strategies, based on the program manual and depending on the needs of the children.
• Assisting with implementing activities and games as directed by the lead facilitator.
• Utilizing effective behaviour management strategies and supporting children during activities.
• Preparing the program space and program materials used during facilitation and cleaning up the space after facilitation.
• Consulting with the coordinator as needed.

Qualifications:  Education & Experience

• Enrolled in or graduated from a psychology-related post-secondary program.
• Practical understanding of effective strategies and best practices for working with children with neurodiverse challenges.
• Prior group facilitation experience is an asset.
• First Aid & CPR is an asset.
