About the Role

The Development Coordinator, Stewardship & Recognition provides exceptional organizational support in the areas of corporate partnership development, fund development, foodraising, and philanthropic gifts. The Development Coordinator, Stewardship & Recognition coordinates and supports activities to ensure successful implementation of Food Banks Canada’s mandate. These activities include fund development and foodraising efforts, partnership relationship support, communication activities (i.e., data base, newsletter content and distribution of development & partnerships materials) and donor stewardship. This position maintains a positive image of Food Banks Canada with its network, stakeholders, and the public.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support donor stewardship activities including producing thank you letters, stewardship reports and various other contractual donor recognition elements
  • Support donor recognition activities including, but not limited to, the annual impact report and website
  • Liaise with account leads and the marketing and communications team to provide support in the recognition deliverables to donors 
  • Support the Development team with the creation of stewardship and engagement assets as requested by team leads
  • Assist with the coordination and collection of required materials (stories, images, etc) from both internal and external stakeholders
  • Support donor stewardship events by assisting with donor communications, event logistics, and asset development
  • Support corporate partnership development by drafting and sending communications and mass deployments, and other coordinating duties
  • Collaborate with internal teams on the development of impact reports, both donor and program reports

What You Will Need

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma program or equivalent in fundraising management (preferred), public relations or communications
  • Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in development/fundraising for a not for profit or charitable organization or marketing support position
  • Experience with developing content with the purpose of engaging/ stewarding external stakeholders
  • Experience with managing donor relationships, activations, and the donor cycle
  • Project management experience
  • Clear, professional, and warm communicator
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy including strong proofreading skills
  • Strong technical skills: learn / understand CMS (content management system) databases, e-mail programs (MailChimp), fundraising platforms (AKA Raisin), ability to learn other web-based systems (e.g. analytical tools such as Google analytics and email analytics),
  • Knowledge of Adobe programs such as InDesign and Illustrator is an asset
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work.
  • This position is remote and can be based anywhere in Canada.
  • Occasional travel within Canada may be required
