Permanent Full-Time Position | Start Date: February 2025 

Under the responsibility of the Major Gifts and Philanthropic Development Director, the incumbent manages a portfolio of mid-level donors, fosters relationships with individual donors, organizations, and foundations to enhance engagement, and supports philanthropic activities, particularly within Quebec’s anglophone community, as well as major and planned gifts.

  • Salary: $62,000 to $74,000 (depending on experience) 

  • 35 hours/week with flexible hours 

  • Hybrid work model: minimum 5 days per month at the office 

  • 4 weeks of vacation per year

Responsibilities: 

Philanthropic Development: 

  • Build and develop a portfolio of mid-level donors, including individuals, foundations, congregations, unions, and professional associations, aligned with the strategies of the Major and Planned Giving Advisor 

  • Maintain and advance relationships with identified donors, following solicitation and retention pathways. 

  • Collaborate with the Major and Planned Giving Advisor to support donor solicitation and retention efforts. 

  • Support administrative tasks related to major and planned gifts. 

  • Implement strategies for identifying, qualifying, soliciting, and retaining each donor segment. 

  • Prepare proposals, support case documents, and write materials (letters, agreements, reports) for donors. 

  • Track donor activities in the Prodon database. 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Education: Degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. 

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in fundraising and philanthropy within a nonprofit organization. 

  • CRM Experience: Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) tools is an asset. 

  • Donor Management: Strong understanding of the donor lifecycle, from prospecting to recognition. 

  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of CRA rules regarding charitable donations. Familiarity with Quebec’s and Canada’s political environment, social justice issues, and movements addressing inequalities. 

  • Autonomy and Collaboration: Ability to work independently while sharing and aligning good practices in philanthropic development. 

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, synthesizing, and communication skills. 

  • Social Media: Proficient in digital platforms. 

  • Languages: Bilingual (French and English) required for communication with philanthropic stakeholders in Quebec’s anglophone community. 

  • Values: Commitment to intersectional feminist principles, decolonization, and anti-racism.
