Job Summary:

The Child Care Support Worker at Eagle’s Nest Early Learning Centre and at New Beginnings will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate child care program, offering a nurturing environment for the care of children, encouraging their intellectual, physical, and emotional growth. This position will require knowledge of the Early Learning Framework and will work in close cooperation with the Child Care Supervisor, school staff and other Child Care Workers.

Your Role:

Archway’s Child Care Worker with Eagle’s Nest and New Beginnings contributes by:

• Working with the children, family, staff, and supervisor to provide an engaging early childhood experience. 
• Carrying out developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for the children, which may include indoor/outdoor, and active/quiet activities.
• Attending to the children’s physical needs which may include toileting, eating, sleeping, and other basic needs.
• Attending to the children’s psychological and emotional needs which may include cuddling, rocking, and holding the child.
• Providing a healthy, safe, caring and nurturing environment. Administering First Aid when necessary.  Observing and removing potential hazards. 
• Building and maintaining relationships with the parents/caregivers, either in person or over the phone.
• Using the Early Learning Framework and emergent curriculum to provide an environment that reflects the interests of the child.

Our Offer

• Wage: $29.10 - $30.16 per hour
• A full-time, permanent position at 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday; flexible availability is required to meet shift work within the hours of 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Getting an Interview – you will be considered if you have:

• License to Practice as an Early Childhood Educator in BC
• 1 year experience providing care to children.
• Knowledge of the Early Learning Framework.

The Job Requires you to have:

• The ability to collaborate and work with family, staff, and community partners to provide a holistic and nurturing environment for the child.
• The ability to adapt and engage, which reflects the needs and interest of the children.
• The ability to work in an environment where there is a high level of noise and distraction from children.
• The ability to pay close attention to the children’s physical and emotional needs.
• The ability to be involved in direct delivery of activities which may include moderate physical activity of walking, standing, bending, and lifting children up to 40 lbs.
• Availability to work outside normal office hours, including evenings.
• A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment.
• A current First Aid certificate is a condition of employment.
